Q. What makes your company different?
A. Our business is built on neighbors telling
neighbors about us. We are not a mega company but your hometown
logging company. We don't charge a fee to give you a quote
like a consulting forester but we back our service through
the entire job. Keep in mind we also own the equipment, trucks,
and the entire process.
Q. How do you compare to other foresters?
A. Our credentials are the same. We are graduates
of Penn State's Forestry
School. We differ in what we do with timber. Most foresters
want the customer to sign a sales agreement charging the 10-12%
fee off the sale of the timber. They then proceed to market
your timber to a lot of companies hopefully obtaining a bidding
war. Sure the bidding process is fine but where the trouble
begins is the awarded company to your timber does not even
know you! The consulting forester loses control of the actual
harvest process.
Q. But the consulting forester said he “can”
control the company with a performance bond?
A. A performance bond keeps the consulting
forester in control of your lot to a certain extent but when
something is done wrong it must be proven and usually turns
into a lengthy court process prior to collecting the wrong
